it was 25 when i checked last here! i went to work this morning and it had started blowing a light dusting. when i got to the shop, was there about an hour, my wife arrived and i ended up calling and telling everyone else to stay home. within just a few hours, the drifts were as high as the hood of my van! the warden picked the kids up from school and i closed up shop. it's getting worse out, freezing ice pellets now!
a great day to hang out at home and play me TAG!!!

Dave, I just got off the phone with my counterpart in Bellevue. He's telling me we can't have our weekly conf call because the route to Renton (and all the folks coming down from Auburn, up from Kent) are all frozen in their homes:eek:  . So, if you're in the WA this is the norm when snow hits??? I understand that you've not had this kind of a white xmas in 10 years, but everything stops when you're snowed in?

I know, as tom says we're babies in CA....anything lower than 60 (for me) is toooo cold. Got back from Chicago on Tuesday and was complaining the whole trip.:p My excuse? Weak and not very hardy. :D

25 here, beautiful and sunny. I might go for a walk down to the beach later.
BTW, our water boils at 100. ;)

Definitely no white Christmases happening in this part of the woods. We're more likely to get a heat wave on Christmas day.

This isn't the more typical a few inches of snow and it's gone a few days later.
We've had an extended cold streak with widespread snow across the region.
In fact the last time we've seen weather like this was 1990.

Since it's a rare event, we don't have the resources to handle all of the snow and frozen streets. The DOT has done a good job on the main arterials, but the problem for most people is getting from their houses to the plowed and sanded roads. Add in all of the hills, inexperience driving in these conditions, and you pretty much have the region come to a stop.

 Here in Pretoria its around 35 C today, so that makes it somewhere about 95 of you guys F's for those of you still using furlongs per fortnight and feet and inches. And just to keep you right, our water here on the Higveld in South Africa boils at around 85 C due to our altitude above sea level.:D

Let me take this opportunity to wish all on the Forum a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, no matter how politically incorrect that seems to be these days.

No matter what your weather is wherever you happen to be, you must all enjoy it.

Anyone expecting Anderson shaped packages under their tree?????????????

We got hit hard here in Detroit - more ways than once if you've been following the B3 news. Anyway, wake up to 10" of snow yesterday morning. Not a fun commute. Got to work and my folks call and tell me it's 75 in Florida. Darn retiree's.

Dave, stay warm! I just spoke w/ Everett ops and they are shutting down for the year, 2 days ahead of schedule. The NY Jets were clearly overcome by the WA weather today!!! Go Seahawks!:p

WE got more snow last night and, somehow, a "hint" was left in the snow for my wife too see. Not sure how this snow formation was created but, I think the "Guitar Gods" may be looking down on me.

The good news is that it has stopped snowing, for now.
And we still have electricity, but the beer supply has run out.
Time to hike to the store.
