I want to de-wind the non-splitting coils, as to get the output and tone of the lower output models and to have less volume drop going to split mode.

we make several models in that range, they all have their model number on the bottom. dc resistance alone can not give you the whole picture. some have tall coils and some have short coils. some have alnico mags, some ceramic, some have neodymium. if your plan is to de wind one coil to get the output lower for the humbucker, that will be a very different result than a lower powered humbucker with equal coils.

Right, I anticipate there would be a difference. I'm looking to get a little more of an open SC vibe. Volume roll-off helps a bit and I find that's how I like the HB mode.

Now to decide if 1k off each coil is the way to go. I think I'll try this on a spare set of pups to get some type of reference per what ratio of mismatching works.
