Ok, here's the deal. I have read all the posts. I went out and bought the only contact cleaner I could find in Singapore.
Took off the back plate, unscrewed the nut on the pot, took the pot out of the body, sprayed the inside of the pot (inside the small bushing), worked the shaft back and forth and then re-assembled everything.
I can get the volume to turn off but as soon as I bring it off the bottom, the scratching starts. It's just not as responsive as it used to be. This has been going on for about 2 months. I play the Crowdster Plus about 4 times a week for the past 2 years.
Suggestions?

Probably need to replace the pot. I am sure if you email Roy he can give you the specs so you can get the same one. It is a pretty easy fix if you are handy with a soldering iron.
are we talking about the electric volume pot? to clean, you don't need to remove it. you spray into the open area right above the connections. flood it good and then rotate the pot. if that doesn't work, then it needs to be replaced. send me your mailing address and i'll send a replacement.

Update:
I followed Tom's directions and it worked perfectly!
That hole to spray in sure is small.
Thanks Supreme Commander!
