I started a new project just ..a gr8 guy I know from work just started playing again after a 10 year layoff (like I did 12 years ago ) and he is a bass player /singer .We have had a a barrage of drummers and other guitarists come through and they either want to go World Tours or can not commit to playing once a week .I have one of those Boss Double Pedal loopers and today I was thinking I could do live loops on guitar and maybe a drum machine ...Anyone here doing this sort of thing ???

i use all types of loops and sequence trax in live shows. however, they are drummer dependent, the drummer gets the count off click and it's his responsibility to keep the time. in your case, the most important factor is to monitor the drum track, not from the front of house boxes with time smears, but with a monitor as close to you as possible. bottom-line it works.

Suriel what do you use to sequence ??? A looper ??...Tried it tonite alittle and it seems tough to get a rythmn trck to start and end on the right beat ...I imagine it gets easier with practice :) :) :) :)

on tour we use pro tools most of the time to run the sequences, but you can easily use drum machines that you can program with 4-bar cues for intros.
