Hey all. I'm a bit of a dork, but I've never had a guitar with split shaft tuners. :o I did a search here but didn't find anything. Could someone enlighten me on how to restring with these tuners? Thanks!
cut the string 3 posts past the one it's going to(for low E cut at G post). insert into center hole, all the way down.
make sharp bend to exit slot.
wind to pitch.
it should give you about three wraps around the post.

Thanks Tom. I wound up trading my hollow Cobra for a solid one and it has the split shaft tuners on it. Just got it this morning and can't wait to try it out!

I wish all my Andy's had the split shafts, I love'm! Thanks for the tip Tom, I had to trust my "Zen Powers" to get the right length in the past; maybe that's why they didn't always turn out right.
i have always liked split shaft tuners, no bit of string waiting to stab your finger tip. kluson called them safety posts. back in the old days i went to the kluson factory and had them make me a set of single ring split shaft tuners for my les paul!
