we have heard from texas and oklahoma police that there are something like 100+ of those forgeries around. they sell them to unsuspecting pawn shops. bummer

First time I've seen one. Now I know what to look for - they're pretty obvious!

most of them have been black tele looking peavy raptors. they say cobra, because it's our most expensive model in the blue book. the unsuspecting pawn shop owners don't see our guitars regularly, so they are fooled.

It's a Peavey. The guy brought it by our store last month, and I told him the bad news about his purchase.
Looks like he has decided to reverse the rip-off.

His story was that it came from a pawn shop and told him 'no money back' on the sweet-heart deal they gave him.
But he could have been fibbing, it's known to have happened in our store a time or two.
