My first post! I have been reading here for quite awhile but now I can techno-babble as well...

I just wanted to ask can you still have a neck replacement by anderson? I have just been thinking what if I got a great deal on one and changed the neck, would I still be much cheaper than ordering a new one with the neck I want. My problem is I really want a neck size in the range of a prs wide fat-suhr even c fat-gibson historic 59. It seems most used andy's have the ta standard sized neck which is way to small for me to be happy. I know when ordering you can upsize but I just thought maybe I could get out cheaper on the first guitar and if it works I could then order one just perfect to start with.

Also how much would such a thing cost and what is the wait time?

Tom I know you reply here so if you do not want to reply publicly you could pm me. Oh, and thanks a lot for the great guitars.

welcome. neck replacement is $500+shipping and it gets you what ever size you want mounted and setup like new. you would have to get a pretty great deal to make it work financially, but it could happen. i would make sure that all other details are exactly what you're after. additional mods could add up to make it not a great deal.
we do a fair amount of guitars with bigger necks so they should pop up from time to time used. you could post here with specs you're after, you never know what might be lurking.

That sounds good to me. Any idea on a wait time for such a job?

And thanks for a very speedy reply!

we make the neck, could be a couple weeks to a month. then the neck sits for a month. then we need your guitar to fit the neck after fretting. then a three weeks for finish and assembly. then ship back to you. so three months is realistic. you're without the guitar for a month or so.
