At the risk of sounding like a gratuitous plug, I picked up a RMC3 wah from the boys at Mesa Hollywood today. This thing already has the foxrox wah retrofit (fuzz-friendly), a mumetal shielded inductor and the teese 5 pot (longer life and covered). However I am still experiencing some 60Hz hum with the Diezels.
So the RMC newbie here emails Geoffrey Teese about this. He does not respond with a "you're an idiot and you don't know my products" (like another local manufacturer would). Instead he rep's that his newest inductor (aka the Karmaflux) will be installed on all new RMC's except the PW and the JWSW. And since he's awaiting new chassis', to send back my new RMC3 and he'll retrofit and ship free of charge.
If you haven't already, check out the Teese Wah's - insanely high quality and wonderful customer service. I'd say my experience with Teese is very much like TAG!!

I have two of his wah's the RMC3 and the RMC6 wheels of fire and absolutely love them both but I still encounter some noise/hum and would like to hear what the new karmaflux inductor will do to tame it down. Keep us posted on the results.
All my dealings with Geoffrey have been on the positive side.
haven't had the pleasure of speaking with him, but have a wah of his. i think rmc1, but not sure. i love the tone. it's a little noisy, but is never a problem when in use. i figure all wahs by nature are going to have some noise, it's a pretty huge tonal bump they do.

John/tom, there was a thread over at the GearPage regarding shielding your inductors. However this was back in early/mid 2005. If your wah's have been mfd since then, you've already got the extra shielding. However, in my case the "normal" wah noise is only amplified by the extra gain stages (even w/ Mogami cables, Axess buffers and "true-bypass loops and a dedicated "clean" power supply).
According to Geoffrey, this new Karmaflux inductor (Acme and RMC) should reduce any "excess" 60 cycle hum. All that will remain will be the normal "vintage" tone (and noise:D ). The irony is that any more "noise reduction" and I'll be left with a modern-sounding wah! :D
for me the noise is really never a problem. i tend to only use the wah for gainy stuff where i'm playing loud anyway. i love the tone so much that i'd hate for it to change, and i'm lazy enough to not bother to change it:o

This is interesting, I was about to sell my budda because with my PP2, it adds a ton of 60 cycle hum. Maybe it's just wahs in general, though I'm not sure why that would be. I hear moving the power supply in relation to the wah can sometimes remedy this, though it's not an option for me at this point. Keep us posted on the new inductor, if it works, I may need to ditch the budda, though I love it's tone. I hate wahs that go so deep, I just like the way the budda isn't too over the top and has a nice sparkle at the top end.

I'm a wah pedal nut, and have tried most of the Teese RMC wah pedals. I haven't met one I didn't really like!! I'm currently using a RMC 4 "Picture Wah". It's very raw, and retro sounding, and has a GREAT wah effect!! I'm loving it. I also really love the RMC "Wheels Of Fire" wah.
Truth be told, the RMC 1, RMC 2, and RMC 3 are pretty darn good too!!

Kurt, +1 on moving the p/supply around to eliminate the hum. I've got the RMC3 in Oregon right now, and will post as soon as she's back here in CA.
FYI, if you dislike the throaty-ness of the "heel" or when the treadle's all the way back, the RMC3 allows you to dial out the lows or dial up the mids. Check it out if you can - very flexible, and a lot more so than the Dunlops (with the side chassis eq's) IMHO.
