Well, I'm now a TAG owner, and darned proud! However, I really want to learn the coveted secret handshake...

My Hollow Cobra S is a work of art, yet getting photos that show the true color and grain is proving difficult! Now, this guitar has shown up on a number of occasions in the past, particularly the 2007 NAAM show.

Being the "creative" person that I am, however, I had to make a change or two to make the instrument truly MINE. So I switched out the cream color pickup covers with ones of my own making, of very black ebony. And I changed the 5-way switch tip to black.

Suggestions on getting the photo process just right will be most appreciated! So far, the pics I've taken are far too red and "bright", even with the flash turned off.

Help!

I typically use a tripod. No flash. Or if I do the shots at night then I make sure to not do it near florescent lighting.

I also use Photo Shop after the shot to adjust for those image temperature issues.

As stated previously NO FLASH...this tends to cheapen the quality of the photo to my eyes. I prefer natural light (such as beside a window, or the natural light on a slightly overcast day is great!) Can't wait to see the pics:D

tripod - no flash. That's the way. Stage lighting works great, too!

I shoot with a DSLR, but compacts can do a real nice job, too.

+1 For staying away from fluorescent lights.

If your camera does not have white balance settings, fluorescent lights can distort colors. As far as natural light goes, the best "color" and "tone" of light can be best captured the hour or two after sunrise and the same before sunset. Midday sun is the harshest and should be avoided.
