I have the option to trade my Crowdster for a PRS Single Cut SC245. Both are in excellent shape, but I was looking to get an electric guitar and the trade presented itself. Do you think it would be a fair trade value wise? I played the PRS and love it, but I am wondering what I should expect to get for my Crowdster. Thanks a lot!

I have both the Crowdster and the PRS SC245. Both are excelent instruments, but both do different things. It's difficult to answer the value for value from a pure $ standpoint. Do you lean more towards electric side of things or are you coming from an accustic side? I wouldn't trade my Crowdster for another 245, nor would I trade my 245 for another crowdster. I like them both.

You will never pry MY Crowdster from me... No way!

But that's me.

There are a billion SC245s out there. How many Crowdys?

Well, I have been primarily an acoustic player, but I have played electric in the past. I ended up selling both my electrics since I never used them, and I didn't like them all that much anyway. I started playing more electric stuff lately, and using the pickup in the Crowdster did allow me some flexibility, but not enough for some of the music I am starting to play. I just needed something better for electric.

Since I have a Taylor acoustic, I decided to keep that and trade off the Anderson for the PRS. I still have a chance to take it back and that is why I was asking value wise, was it an ok deal. I have a friend who might sell me one of his "spare" Crowdsters once I can save up some money, I just needed a good electric for now.

I bit my tongue when I read your post yesterday.

I'm glad you like the PRS. The good ones are made just down the road from me in Stevensville, MD where I used to dock my sailboat. They're hiring sanders for $9-10 per hour.

When I read your post it sounded like you were under the impression that the Crowdster is the only instrument made by that little California company called Tom Anderson Guitarworks.

Please take some time to check out the incredibly fine guitars from Tom Anderson Guitarworks. The TAG Cobra has a 24.75" scale length, and the action on these guitars is amazing.

Anyway, I had to throw in my $0.02.

I know Tom makes other guitars, and I have played a few others (an Atom and a drop-top I think). I love Tom's stuff and no dobut it is some of the nicest stuff I have played. The only major issue is that there are few Andersons that are local to me to play and buy. The PRS that I ended up getting was available, and was also an incredible playing and sounding guitar. I needed a good electric and it fit the need.

Don't worry though, I am not turning my back on Andersons... I will have another one soon. :)
