Hello Gang,

I have the opportunity to get a brand new H3 pickup, I currently use a H2+ which sounds fantastic in the solo parts, but lacks a tiny bit of grunt for heavy metal rythm parts

Is there a big difference between the H2+ and the H3 ? Is it difficult technically to replace the H2+ with the H3 ? (I can solder...)

thanks !

the h3 should give you more chunk on the bottom, and the top may get you a little more edge. 4 solder points and some stripping and you're there.

Tom, would you happen to have a schematic for the wiring of the bridge pickup ? Since the current bridge pickup has been messed with I want to be sure to fit the H3 correctly...

they're all the same. red is hot and it should go to the 5 way. black and bare go to ground, back of the vol pot. green and white go together and go to the splitter switch, probably next to the other green and whites.

yes, but that's if the OEM wiring wasn't changed by the incompetent who messed your nice work... :D

Excuse my English, but I'm not sure my guitar has a 5 way switch, but rather 4 independant switches... is it the same ?

sorry, i went back to the photo. the white green and red are in the right places. just shorten up the black and bare and get them on the back of the volume pot.
