Hey guys. Last night our band played at an outdoor open air tabernacle in the woods for a camp. The power was so messed up out there that every time the Bass player plucked a note...the lights dimmed. We decided to not hook up all 3 tube amps...and just go with one of our players carrying all the lead stuff... yada yada yada...

Here's my question: What do you guys take with you on the road to ensure stable power for yourselves? I've seen anywhere from 150 power conditioners up to 1500 for regulators by furman. Are there any better...or cheaper options/brands that you guys know of?

thanks in advance,
Johnny

sounds like the supply was just way too low in capacity, a conditioner may not help in that circumstance. we've had similar experiences at camps. 1 long home depot extension cord for the whole band. not good.

you need what's used in our stadium shows. generators that will light up a city!

alright... I'm taking up a collection so our band can purchase one of Z's big generators. Hah!

Anyone else with a suggestion on some gear we could purchase to help with that type of situation?

i think there are 2 different issues, lack of enough power which i don't think there's anything you can do about, and low or unstable power. the unstable power can be fixed but i think it is still very expensive to deal with. i remember a thing call a juice goose or some silly name, it was big and expensive. i think having some big fat extension cords is a step in the right direction.
