Pickup winding direction & magnet polarity

I have a classic with VA1/VA1/VA12. I replaced the VA1R in the middle to maintain the same polarity so I could use a Suhr BPSSC noise cancelling backplate. I am trying to help a friend install a BPSSC in a Strat. For comparative purposes, how does the pickup wind direction and pole polarity differ in VAs vs Fender single coils?

i installed a ssc system for a friend and the coil had to be hooked up backwards to work with our pickups. i had someone else say differently, so they may not all be the same.
