Well, originally I bought a HO1+ for my strat, but they didn't get along.
On a whim I decided to drop it in the bridge of my '93 Hamer Special FM to replace the overly hot JB that it came with. What a match!
Now I can hear the wood of this guitar. No more mushy, over pickup-y sound.
Pure, classic crunch. Better sustain. Searing hi gain sounds w/out being "metal". Really fun to play with just a little gain, which was certainly not true of the JB. Jimmy Page in spades. (the ultimate, for me)
As a nice bonus, it seems to get along just fine with the stock '59 neck, although I have to say I'm tempted to drop an HO1 there as well after hearing what it can do in the bridge.
Just thought I'd share my good experience. I don't see the HO1+ talked about too often, seems under-rated.
