I'm sure Tom will address the issue when he sees the thread.

Tom takes great pride in his product and takes the proper precautions against forgeries.

i send tom emails all the time about fakes when i see one. .. but i dont think he can do anything about logos, as fenders and gibson decals are all over the net, and it's easy enough to go get some made as well.

The thing that Anderson does is make a guitar so well, nobody in their right mind would want to put a decal on something that wasnt real, you would be able to tell immediatly it's not real.

Take a look at the guy's feedback and you'll find he even sold a fake Anderson neck with the fake decal. He is lso presently auctioning off a "fake" Fender Strat neck.

Actually fake Fender decals are pulled off eBay all the time due to trademark violations. This guy was even stupid enough to copy the "registered" symbol in the decal. Doing that sort of thing admits you know the item you are copying is a registered trademark and hence illegal.

i'm sure he knows it's not the right thing to do.. but my point was it's an uphill battle, that will never be won. I wonder how many strat necks from warmoth end up with a fender decal on it? i'll bet 99%.

Dave,

I agree with you 100% that it is an uphill battle. I've noticed with the Fender decals that the auctions are pulled pretty quickly after being posted, it makes you think that Fender has a full time employee souring eBay for bogus stuff.

And as you said before Anderson quality shines right thru, it would next to impossible for some home-hack to duplicate.

eBay shut down the auction for the bogus Anderson Headstock decals.
