I want this guitar so bad. Anyone know what store this one is going to ?
Also, form the neck specs it seems like the 60's carve is bigger . . . generally with Gibson, 60's carves are smaller than 50's carves. Anyone know what TAG carve comes closest to a Historic 58 neck carve ?
thanks

an oversized 60's vibe is the only thing in that sort of size realm....but the shape is completely different and they really feel nothing alike.

On the Guitar of the Week page, it says right above the the serial number line in Destination/Location what store it's headed to.

Near the bottom of the page for this one.
the ct is still an anderson, not a gibson, so we will stay with our neck backshape naming conventions that we use on all thew other models.
breifly,
the even taper neck has the least taper from end to end. the standard even taper is our thinnest neck from front to back. it can be ordered in varying amounts of oversize to get a bigger neck. for instance when people are into the early 50's round necks, they order an even taper +.100". that makes the almost the same size at both ends baseball bat style neck.
the 60's vibe has the most taper, similar to early 60's fenders. smallish at the first fret and almost full depth at the heel. the 1 11/16" being wider feels a bit bigger than the 1 5/8". these can also be ordered oversize.
the happy medium sits right in between the two in taper and has less shoulder(meat right under the fb lamination) than the other two.
we also do small and large V.
with these different shapes and oversize options there's not much you can't get other than the ibanez wizard neck ;)

Well, my friend, you just lost a sale. I was JUST fixin' to order a day-glo green Atom CT with a Wizard neck, a monkey grip, and an onboard fan that would blow my hair around.
we'd do it for you zan. would hate to miss out on that hair blowin' in the breeze.
I wanna see the monkey grip..............

Thanks Tom,
Yeah I know it's still an Anderson (otherwise I would not be interested). I don;t expect it to be identical to a R8, but it shares some common traits and I was wondering if it would be enough like my R8 but with all the quality I'd expect in an Anderson. I would guess an oversized neck would go a long way towards feeling like the R8.
if you could get some thickness dimensions at the 1st and 11th frets, it will insure you get what you are after. i have played a few of the reissues, and some were lots bigger than the others. my guess is an over size even taper will be best. we just need to know how much over.

[QUOTE=tom]... I have played a few of the reissues, and some were lots bigger than the others...[QUOTE]
I find that true with both Fender Time Machine and Gibson Historic. I wonder if they do that on purpose? I mean if you go to a vintage shop and pick up a few REAL 59 LP's or a few REAL 62 Strats there will be inconsistencies from neck to neck, among other things.
For example, doesn't Gibson also purposely show the binding error on the cutaway portion of its Historic guitars?
One thing is for sure: two of my Anderson's have identical neck specs, and if you close your eyes you can't tell the difference one to the other. Now that is QC!
to be fair, different pieces of wood cut differently, so everything can vary some. here we have only a couple people sanding necks, while at gibson or any big company you will have many people doing the same job. any time you get more people involved you're going to have some variation.
i'd like to think we do a pretty good job at consistent sizing, but they do get sanded.

It just hit wildwood's website. One side of me wanted to figure out a way to buy it myself, but being the nice guy I am (and being broke) I might as well let a fellow TAG forum member get a chance at it. :D You don't have to thank me, if you buy it just send it to me one month out of the year to "inspect it" for you.::)

6-27-08A is awesome, but this week's gow is stunning! Wow-I used to own an Atom, which is pretty nice looking, but these CT atoms are mind blowing! I better start saving my pennies or dump my lesters because the last couple of GOWs are giving me serious gas!

Sure thing ! I'm still debating . .the price for admission is steep (though I'm sure worth it). My Tyler is my workhorse these days so I may need to save for the Andy.

Well, what can I say... except for... WOW!!! Mind blowing is an understatement!!! Love the feeling of it, love the pickup & the new covers, LOVE the sunken tune-o-matic bridge :) and ABSOLUTELY LOVE the sound!!! If I hadn't gotten my absolutely amazing Drop Top recently (06-24-08N - thanks Tom & crew. I couldn't be happier with it!!!) and if my wife hadn't confiscated all my credit cards before I went to Gelb  this baby would be sold now too! :D
Congrats Tom, Roy and everyone at Anderson on the Atom CT. What an amazing guitar!!!! You guys are awesome!
I already have an Atom CT. But, after seeing that photo, I want ANOTHER!!

I played the Cherry Burst CT at Wildwood a couple of days ago. SSHHHWWEEEET! If I didn't already order my Desert Sunset, that baby would have gone home with me. That Brazilian RW is stunning too, but I hear that Tom and Roy prefer the Indian RW on these.
