Hello guys (and gals...)

I'm Erick, I live near Paris, I stopped playing the guitar 10 years, and decided It was silly to forget the little bit I learnt about music when I was a kid.
When I was 18 I ended up in a pub where a guitarist was playing a drop top plugged into a Peavey 5150 head, connected to a Marshall JCM900 cabinet. The sound of this guitar litteraly blew me away, but I couldn't get one of these jems at that time.
I am now the proud owner of a 91' drop top No:12-03-91P (see pictures) and it replicates exactly this sound I had in my memory ! I LOVE IT !

Here are the specs:
Model - Drop Top
Body Finish - Translucent Blue with Binding
Body Wood - Figured Maple Top on Basswood
Neck Wood - Birdseye Maple
Neck Finish - Satin Finish
Nutwidth - 1 11/16 in
Frets - Heavy
Back Shape -
Hardware - Chrome
Bridge - Sunken Kahler Steeler
Pickguard -
Pickups - SK1R SK1 H2+
Switching - Series/Parallel

When I got this guitar, the previous owner messed with the settings, so I made a call to Tom Anderson directly and got to talk to one of their tech. I must say they were more than helpful to help me set it back up to the way the guitar was when it left the factory, so thanks again to them!

Nice to meet people liking this brand guitar (not many owners of TAG here in France)

Best regards to all.

Erick

Merci-tu es trop sympa! Haha, sorry again-my high school french has been lying dormant for much too long! Just a couple of questions for you-Is there an Anderson dealer in France? What amps are you playing your Anderson through? Do most French guitarists gravitate towards the big boys, e.g. Gibson and Fender, or do the small guys like Anderson or even Vigier get their fair share in the guitar market? thanks and welcome again to the forum!

Congrats on your french skills ! you had a very good teacher in high school !
To answer your questions:
As far as I know, there are no TA dealers in France, you cannot get a brand new one here, you do find a couple of second hand ones in the shops from time to time, but it is very rare.
We do have a few luthiers in France (you mentionned Vigier, I'm sure you know it is a french Luthier), but the majority of guitar players here get a Gibson/Fender or Ibanez / ESP.
Not many people know about TA, which suits me fine :) I get to have a very special guitar !
I'm playing my Tom Anderson through an "old" Marshall Valvestate 8080, and I use a zoom G2 effects processor.
I used to play a Yamaha RGX mounted with an 81 EMG active pickup. This guitar was good but very dedicated to metal and heavy rock music. the clear sounds were not so good.
Now with the Tom Anderson, I can play all type of music, I especially love the medium and treble of this axe ! a very fine instrument ... now I need to become a fine guitarist ! hahaha ! (this is gonna take time !)

What gear do you have yourself ? what kind of music do you play ?

thanks for the info! I guess France isn't immune to the big two-Gibson and Fender. Gear wise, I've been playing through a Bogner Ecstasy 101b and an Ecstasy 100b. I've been pretty comfortable with those two amps and a Soldano Avenger for the last two years, but you never know (in fact, I just sold the Avenger a month ago)! I love all kinds of music, but I'll always be a metalhead. Anyway, welcome to the forum again!

Nice guitar = congrats!

I want to return to France someday. I had an overnight in Paris in 2004 and I stayed in Chamonix during last Christmas. Beautiful country. If I could speak French, I'd love to live there!
