Two different animals-----I know, but has anyone done a side by side between these two new PUP's from our favorite builder?
Listening to soundclips from Indoor Storm------I'm digging the SF "quack" alot. So, other than stacked (silent) vs. true single coil------can anyone describe the tonal differences?
I'm partial to the first generation VA's....have you considered 'M's?

Don't own one with M's-----but have played them. I liked em.
Just always intrigued by the new stuff.

I have a DTC with M's. I love them. Before the DTC my favorite guitars were a Carvin CT6, a Strat Deluxe and a Tele Deluxe. The M's with the kickback switch give me a good representation of both the Strat and the Tele.
I can switch on the kickback and roll back the tone a little to get a good hot single coil sound, like Texas Specials, only fatter with no hum. Switch the kickback off and it has a good humbucker sound. It's doesn't sound just like a Strat or Tele or a CT6, it has it's own personality, but it's very versatile and has very good fat tone. It sounds more Strat like with the kickback on in positions 2 and 4 if you roll the tone control closer to 10.
