SA style P'ups question

I just picked up a Hollow T Classic (my second Anderson, and totally incredible!!!) and it has the three p'up configuration with a SA1R, SA, and TD3+, mini switch and push/pull on the tone pot. I LOVE the way these things sound, and splitting with the mini switch really allows for a totally different vintage kind of tone...sorry, im gushing, it's just that good :rolleyes:

Anway, Im just curious about this whole splitting a single coil pickup thing. Are these not really single coils? I cant really tell from the Anderson website...

they are stacks, 2 coils on top of each other. when they are split, the top coil is activated. you'll probably notice more lows and highs and little more output when split.

awesome, very cool! So do I have it backwards then? The split tone is actually the hotter ofthe two sounds? I just assumed it was the other way around.:D
