I'm new to this forum and I recently purchased a used 2002 Hollow Cobra S in faded tobacco with an H01- & H02 pickups. When I purchased the guitar I noticed the volume pot was really scratchy to the point where it was unusable. So I called TAG wanting to buy a new volume pot.Well, when I told the lady who answered the phone what was going on the first words out of her mouth was "whats your adress and we'll send you a new one".I told her I wasn't the original owner and the guitar was almost 6 years old, her reply was " thats not a problem".Then I was getting some static noise when I split the humbuckers .Not only did I get a quick e-mail response from Tom as to what the problem might be I also got a phone call from Roy.Now on top of that I must say this Cobra S is the finest playing & sounding guitar I've ever owned, so much in fact that it's the only guitar I own and gig with. Now I recently decided a backup was in order so I went and played some mass produced guitars (names withheld to protect the innocent)and I was left feeling flat .None of them came close to my Cobra S in feel or quality. So I guess my only option is to order another Anderson, maybe another Cobra S with 3 P-90's and a rosewood neck.:) So as I said before I blame this all on Tom!

THANKYOU !!!!!

I blame Tom too. ;) +1 to everything you said about Anderson customer service. They are truly wonderful people working for a perfect company.

I too started with a second hand TAG from '98, and it has recently acquired a brand new custom specced friend. :D Here they are:

BTW, as you may have read in other posts, it is obligatory to post a pic of your guitar. ;)

Ok, well not really obligatory ... more like mandatory. :D

I use http://imageshack.us

Go to the above site and upload your picture. If all you have are raw jpegs directly from your camera, you should select the 'resize' option to change the size of the picture to something more web friendly - preferably 1024x768 because we all love to see as much detail as we can. :D

Once you've done that, there will be a number of links on the page. Go to the bottom of the links and copy (Ctrl-C on the PC, Apple-C on the Mac) the text in the box that says direct link' next to it.

Come back here, reply to the thread and click the little image icon in the editor tool bar (it looks like a square with mountains and a sun in the background). Paste (Ctrl-V / Apple-V) the previously copied link into the dialog box.

Add some appropriate text with the image and then click 'Preview Post'. Repeat this step until you're happy with the message, and then click 'Submit Reply'.

Then sit back and let everyone else be stunned by the pure awesomeness of your gorgeous Anderson guitar.

**EDIT: BTW, you don't need to put your email address or register with Imageshack.US just to host these kinds of pictures.

Wow. In a very twisted way I'm kind of hoping something happens to my Anderson so that I can experience that kind of customer service. :D

Anything but a recorded message that says "Your call is important to us, that's why we're not talking to you right now".

Yea, Tom is awful.
Who would have ever thought a company in the USA would take pride in their work, deliver the product they say they will, bend over backwards to make the craziest combinations of woods, custom colors and pickups to keep their customers happy.
Shame on you Tom.

You can also go to photobucket.com. You do not need to resize there. Photobucket provides links below the pics. Just copy the bottom one and paste it into the body of your post. It will automatically resize the photo.

See the example below This is a couple of mine

I know how you feel. three years ago I, just by chance, picked up and Anderson at a local dealer, when I left that store I could not get that guitar out of my mind. I called my wife and said "I know this sounds crazy, but I have found the best playing guitar I have ever played". The funny thing is that she said I should buy it, even after I told here it was over two grand. A minute later I called the store on my cell phone and put a credit card payment to hold it until the next day when I could get back there to pick it up. I now own a second one and already have my fifth one picked out ;) .

As far as customer service, they are the best. when i got my first TAG I kept breaking the G string, about every third song. Tom sent me a new saddle because we could not figure out what was going on. Turns out it was the strings, I had a bad bunch of Elixer strings, now I almost never break one.

You all carry it very well. It's nice to know that there's a company that take's PRIDE in the work they do. Keep up the great work. I'm sure there will be another TAG in my near future.

Well, the choice this week was not too hard:

Pay Taxes or buy music gear.

At least Tom doesn't come after you and toss you in jail if you don't buy a guitar, I think....

It's not that TA ruined it for me. No, he made playing much more fun and better sounding. I think he ruined it for other builders. I have had several guitars come and go since the TA's arrived at my house two years ago. I have played a boatload of guitars at NAMM, GC and plenty of shops around the country. The honeymoon is not over after two years.

The Andersons are in a league of their own.

Mott

This one I don't blame on Tom. He built a beautiful guitar, someone sold it to GC, and no one in Memphis at the time knew what a TAG was apparently. Got it for a steal.

http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk298/hoople_bucket/100_0965.jpg

Again, I don't blame him on #2. Always wanted a Butterscotch Tele and I got a great hollow one.

http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk298/hoople_bucket/100_0407-1.jpg

But, #3 I blame on him. All on him. For the impending retirement announcement. Bought this the next day. Still haven't told the wife. :D

http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk298/hoople_bucket/100_0961.jpg

But I think I almost love this one more than TAG #1.

Good grief there's some sic guitars on this thread. Mott, that tobacco sunburst w/ maple neck is just stunning. Piped, what color is the Cobra with the Floyd, that thing is killin me. I still get chills just uncasing my baby, but I am suddenly feeling the need for a second.
Yep, if it wudun fer that dang tom, I'd still be plinkin along with my strat, just blissfully unaware.

... Piped, what color is the Cobra with the Floyd, that thing is killin me.
It's a transparent purple Drop Top. That guitar draws more comments from people - purely because of it's colour - than any other guitar I've ever had .. for any reason. It sounds fantastic too - especially since I put SFs into the single coil positions.

The Cobra S next to it is transparent purple burst - but the colour isn't quite as striking as the colour of the Drop Top.

Yeah, I started with one; a beautiful Cobra. Then I got a Hollow T GTW in Olympic white, and now I have an Ice Blue Classic. I keep telling myself again this is all I will ever need too. I wonder what the next one will be? Maybe there is something in the wood that addicts you, fulfills you, just makes you want to go out and smear your ears with jam; well maybe not that but you understand. Life is short, it should be enjoyed as much as possible.:D

It spreads like a virus and before you know it, all your old beloved guitars have been sold and exchanged for another Anderson.
