Have there been any changes to the value of the resistor for the VV circuit?

I recently bought a Koa DT 3-11-97P and noticed that the SD1 pickups lacked the glassy high end I like.I checked the value of the VV shunt resistor
and found it's 330k,which would give a 198k load.
I read the FAQ about VV on the TA site and it states that it presents a 250k load.Just wondering
what happened.;)
BTW, when I removed the VV resistor, the SD1 pickups came alive with the incredible glassy single coil tones I was after. In split mode they sound amazing!! Fantastic guitar, too.:D

the 330k is the value we have always used. we tried to be general about the end load so it would be easy for people to understand what it was doing. when we forst discovered the loading concept, we played with different values till we found what we liked the best. your totally unloadd sd's will have an extended high end. if it works for you then all is good.

Thanks ,Tom.
The difference with a 500k load or a 200k load is really huge.Enough so that I would've considered a pickup swap if I hadn't tried removing the 330k resistor.Now it's just right.;)
