My Crowdster Plus has WAY more coolness now! Dave said "Wow, you have the Plus, yours is better". Yeah, but Dave has two!

The concert was great, too, but what's up with the goofy smile.

Maybe once my new baby is in my hands... I'll get lucky enough to have Dave sign mine.

I love that guy!

Anybody else notice that he kinda resembles a Caveman?

Kinda like a cooler version of the Geico guy?:D

Tom,

I got to interact with the band a bit, as I was helping to set up before the show. They have nothing but nice things to say about you and your guitars, Tom, especially Jack and Dave.

It was a one-off show, so Dave ran straight into the board through a DI. No processing except some boss pedals for a couple of effect-y things. Is that what he normally does? anybody know?

for fly dates(they do a lot of those). he just uses whatever brand supplied DI's. when they haul gear he uses his pendulum audio preamp.

I've had to use mine without my beloved AG Stomp preamp, too, and it is really nice to know that you could get a pretty good tone even when you don't have all the gizmos you want.

They sounded GREAT! Sure, guys like me noticed the lack of the preamp in the chain, but it didn't detract from the worship experience, which is what the show was all about anyway.

On that note.. Pietro..
Since the AG stomp is no longer available... what would you recommend running the C+ through before the board?
I've been trying to decide which (or what type) pre to get and there are so many options it gets a bit overwhelming...
Any advice from experience?

I've tried a few things. I think the Aura is promising and liked it when I borrowed one to try for a day, but you have to futz with it a LOT and it is pretty near impossible to tweak live.

If my AG Stomp broke, I'd first try and buy a used one to replace it, and second I'd look at the Boss AD5 or AD8 (http://www.bossus.com/gear/productlist.php?ParentId=118). I tried them briefly and liked them. I just didn't buy one, because my AG Stomp is working just fine thanks.

The POD X3 Live had some GREAT stuff on it, but I couldn't make it sound good with the electric side at all, so I sent mine back. I might be interested in Line6's next generation if they can make it not so hard to use.

i've heard david lots of times some with and some without the preamp, and i've got to say the person mixing or the sound system made more of a difference than which DI he was using.

That's kind of my fear....

My sound guy... well lets just say, I would LOVE to find a sound guy with an ear closer to mine (preferably better than mine) and leave it at that.

I generally like to make my guitar channel "off limits" other than the fader, but that's no way to live;)

I've heard the Boss is ok too... I'd love to find a Stomp, but they seem to be very illusive at least to me.

There's a Yamaha AG stomp up on EBay right now: http://cgi.ebay.com/Yamaha-Acoustic-Stomp_W0QQitemZ140208370257QQihZ004QQcategoryZ4141 9QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I see them there every couple weeks.
