Pickup Query

When I think of single coil pickups, I think back to the early to late 1950's and the bell like tones and chimes of the early Fender p'ups. As much as I hate to admitt it, I love the Lace Gold Sensors that I had in my Clapton Signature. If I was to order a guitar and wanted the shimery golden age tone of the early single coils, what Anderson p'up would I want?

by your description i'd say VA's. to my ears the lace sensors don't sound that way so i may be steering you wrong.

VA1 (neck)
VA1R (middle)
VA2 (bridge)

will get you to where you want to be. Anderson VAs are pretty sensitive to height changes so a 1/2 turn adjustment either way will make a big difference form low power mid 50's to a beefier "Texas Tone".
