Hi Guys,
A happy new year to all,
Has anyone on the forum seen or have a T classic ( or anymodel really) in metalic amber? i love the frost gold colour that Fender do on the Danny Gatton Tele model and would consider an order if it was close?
Photos or comments welcome:)

I have the metallic amber classic that is on the Anderson web site. It was also guitar of the week for May 22 2005. It is a great color.

Thanks for the reply,
Yes, i have seen that, thats where the inspiration comes from. It does look a great colour but how close is it to "frost gold" in Fenders range? ;)

I looked at a few photos on the web of Fender's Frost Gold. In pictures it seems very close. Now I have seen, in person, MEP's guitar and some Gattons in person as well. Via in hand experience, the Frost Gold has more of a slight copper tint to it, whereas the Metallic Amber is very amber, no coppertone at all. To me, Anderson's Metallic Amber is the best "Gold Top" finish they do. I am personally biased towards MEP's guitar (I ordered it for Mass Street originally) and it is probably my favorite color choice I ever asked for on a guitar from Anderson. So, my opinion is GET ONE!!! :D :D :D

In response to your request, I breached a guarded area of the Anderson Complex and got you a picture that has not yet been prepared for Guitar of the Week. I had to feed the guard dog Fruit Loops to get by him. Hope you like it.

PS Don't show this to anyone.

:D :D :D Nice one, i laughed out loud,
My last hollow T classic was known by me and my friends as my "closet classic" because if my wife was in the house, thats where it was kept !!! she used to get the vaccum cleaner out of the cupboard but never noticed the extra case !! ;)

Roy: I wish that you hadn't posted that link. Now I want to find that guitar so that it can be with its big brother. Siblings ought to be raised in the same house, don't you think.

Mott and Replayboy: My wife has gotten to the point that she doesn't even notice when a new guitar comes home. I had a new one this last spring that I left in the family room and would play while watching TV right in front of the wife. It wasn't until a friend said, "Hey, that's a new guitar. When did you get it?" that my wife even noticed. So, maybe you can come out of the closet and hide them in plain sight.

Yea, sorry, I thought that might happen. The glow from that color in person--as you know if you have one--is spectacular. Not over the top but just right.

There is a guy--an Anderson player/guy--who plays with one of those corporate party bands where the band has many really famous guys--1 from each famous band. In the band there is one guy from the Eagles, one from Steppenwolf, etc...you get the idea. Anyway, he plays a Metallic Amber, Classic and it photos so well in the live shots, it is amazing. The color is neutral and vibrant all at the same time--a perfect stage shade.

Have fun and keep us posted on what you decide to do.

I believe it's the same. From what I understand this is a very hard color to photograph.....

OK, folks, I have to speak up here as a highly educated, well trained professional psychological counselor. The education came from school...the training from my bride.

Do you REALLY think your spouses doesn't "see" the new guitar/guitar case tucked away in the closet? Of course they do! These people are not idiots! After all, they married YOU!

These brilliant spouses realize that owning incredible insturments makes you feel good and makes you happy...even if you're not particularly adept at playing them. They also know that, should circumstances dictate, these incredible instruments can, and would, be sold for the original purchase price or more.

N.B. Who are all the "guests" that visit this site? I suspect they're watching and enjoying the posts we create.

Do you really need to talk out loud like that?
You must be thinking real hard about one of these guitars!....:D
