I know TAG is working their way out of peizo bridges but, does anyone know if I can still order a new guitar with one on it?

I emailed Anderson a few days ago and have not heard anything back.

Tom? Roy? Anyone?

Thanks Tom. Do you have any thoughts for anything in the future?

I'm assumming I could have a Fishman bridge installed on a new Anderson if I chose to. Is that correct, or is there something about your new bridges that wouldn't line up with Fishman's current powerbridges?

their aftermarket bridge has the large post open cutouts in the front but it will work. you might have to clear a little wood since the bridge will scoot forward a bit from the large U channels. they don't make the non trem we used as an aftermarket bridge.

"Clear a little wood"

Ouch!!!

I'll have to think about this. May be better off waiting for a nice used one already equipped. Thanks for the info Tom.

Tom,
I'm on the verge of a Metallic Amber T classic order and would hate to have it made for an acoustic bridge option to be available after it was built. In the duo i play in i would say i use the acoustic setting on my current butterscotch Anderson T classic about 50% of the time so it saves me taking 2 guitars.
Is it just a supply problem? if so is there something i could buy which you would fit in the build programme?
Dont ask, you dont get !

fishman chose to stop making the oem bridges they were making for us. it didn't fit with their plan(our numbers are pretty small, and it was probably not worth the headache). baggs makes a piezo loaded non trem bridge, and the ghost saddles will fit on our bridge. both require an on board preamp though.

... and the ghost saddles will fit on our bridge. both require an on board preamp though. How would the output wires be run from the Ghost saddles into the guitar (on an Anderson trem version of the bridge)? Is there a second hole beneath the saddle for this wire?

Thanks for the info Tom.
I am looking at a fixed bridge T anyway so if i ask REALLY nice could you do it? , would i need to supply parts ??
To be accurate, the T classic i had made in 04 had a mini toggle switch, which i had so it was used with a stereo cable and just gave me electric, electric/acoustic, acoustic only at the flick of a 3 way switch, can that be done?:o

replayboy,

If you decide to do gold, I might have one for you, if Tom will put it on a guitar he builds for you. I bought it when they were clearing out the last few (on ebay) thinking I was going to build a solid-body guitar with PowerBridge. But right now I'm insanely happy with the guitars I have and am in no rush to start that project. It's a Tom Anderson Fishman powerBridge (fixed) in gold, of course, but with no screws. Never been installed.

PM me if you're interested.

89 bucks takes it (that's what I paid) plus whatever it costs to ship. PM me if you're interested, but find out if Tom will put it in a new guitar for you first. If I am stuck with this it's no big deal, I may eventually build the guitar anyway.

Pietro,
Thank you very much man, thats very kind.
I will PM you and also wait for Tom to reply?
I was hoping for chrome hardware, but if thats a no go i will go with the gold?
Cheers buddy.

i don't know of an elegant solution for the ghost wires, and it would need a preamp. the fishman saddles were the only thing that has enough output to leave the guitar without a preamp.
we might be convinced to instale a fishman bridge if asked nicely and were bribed with food:D

Thanks Tom,
Thats very kind of you, I can ask REALLY nicely, but food from Liverpool... how do i keep it hot and fresh !
Are there any options for a chrome install? Despite Pietro's very kind offer, I am thinking against the metallic amber i want then gold on gold might be too much?:)

don't have any of the chrome ones left, sorry.

Tom,
Sorry to be a pain, but is a "standard" fixed bridge pack from Fishman (or Baggs) something i could buy that would fit? would it need/come with pre amp etc?:o

tom

fishmand does not make one that fits. baggs will fit, but would need the preamp to make it work. their control x is what we used when we installed them. we had a special version made and it made the install more complicated than it needed to be.

Being the captain of the ship, with your knowledge and expertise and all, ....That Baggs x-Bridge doesn't have enough without a pre-amp?!
My next 'Piece of Art' I wanted the acoustic thing too. I had a Godin Solidac that had it and since it's gone, I do (only) miss that feature. It's a great church thing.
Oh well, Keep up the awesome work.

I think Fishman needs to know--"If you build them, we will buy them".

I'm from Iowa so---you know--- the whole Field Of Dreams thing. Uh-humm.....................anyway........

No. Definately NOT heaven. Ask me again in April or so.

Sorry dude, I'm new here and I didn't get your response or if was even at me or not?

not sure if it was a question, but the baggs needs a preamp in the guitar. otherwise 6' of cable will kill the tone.
fishman did build it, and not enough people came for them to continue building it. sad but true.

Just an attempt at alittle humor. Wasn't directed at anyone in particular.

I'm basically saying that I wish Fishman would get back into the game with TAG's. Doesn't sound too promising though.
