This 2005 Hot Cat 30R started life as a combo. I sent the amp back to Bad Cat and they installed it in a headshell and upgraded the amp to 2007 specs. Also gave me a new footswitch.
It is in excellent condition, 30-Watts Class A, 2 x EL34's, switchable Solid State or Tube rectifier, with reverb on Clean channel, and an effects loop.
Manufacturer's Description:
"The Hottest of all Cats. The concept and function of the Hot Cat is new, unique and unlike any model ever produced by Bad Cat. The 12AX7 based preamp affords some overdrive loading if desired via the CLEAN input tap as well as sweep control of the clearly emphasized overdrive employed with the alternate HI-GAIN input.
Sound is shaped both with panel controls and via selecting either tube rectification or the included solid state rectifier circuit with the latter SS position favoring a harder edge, less compression, and more sustain. The power section uses dual EL34 tubes to support continuous, very thick overdrive speaker power and a strong reserve of clean headroom. In contrast to other Class A models to date, as regards extraordinary sound possibilities, the HOT CAT runs appreciably ahead of the pack."
$1800 plus shipping (it is heavy), or pick up if you are in New England.
