Hello, I used to own a Pe*vey W*lfgang and I really loved the neck on that guitar. It was the standard neck and it fit my hand like a glove. Would any of you guys know what Anderson neck would be the closest in feel? When I get ready to pull the trigger on my own custom TAG I would like the neck to be as close to that feel as I can get. Unfortunately the only Anderson I've ever played is the drop top that I own so I don't have any other point of reference.
Thanks!

I have spent a lot of time on Andersons...none of the necks feel remotely like a Wolfgang.
If you want that feel grab a Music Man Axis.

Thanks Mister T ;)
Since there are not Andersons in local shops i'm not sure what the other necks feel like. It is entirely possible that one of the other Anderson neck shapes I may end up liking a lot more than a Wolfgangish feel.
I think I need to make a road trip to MakeN'Music....

Dude,
The only way to know is get in the car and go somewhere that has a few. As far as I know MisterT is quite right about the Wolfie, vs anything else thing. Others who are more technically astute than me might be able to figure out how to come close on an Andy. Unlike you I did not care for that guitar. Just my taste. So the thought never came to mind to compare.
Back to the neck thing:
If you go to the Anderson Guitar web site you can see that there is just quite a wide variety of neck personalization available. You may fall in love with one and want all your guitars spec'd a particular way. Also the Andy neck radius is rather flat, making soloing and bending quite easy. That is a pretty consistent feature among the various carves.
All that said...
Let me offer you a different point of view: Why not just like the guitar for what it is? Kind of like valuing diversity?
Maybe I am spoiled because I have so many guitars, (OK, so I am spoiled, but I also am finally selling off a bunch), but I just kind of appreciate each for what it is.
Just my thoughts. I realize you are in your search for your holy grail. I am sure you will find one!

Wolfgang necks are unfinished and VERY round but the profile is not symmetrical. Anderson doesnt have a neck with that shape.
Music Man does, Peavey does and now F*nder's EVH company will. If I really wanted that sort of guitar (and I don't) I'd be getting a Music Man.

Actually! I think the neck on the Musicman Axis is quite different than the neck on the PV Wolfgang model guitars! The PV has a fatter neck profile so you might want to try the Anderson 60's vibe! It has a nice transition to it. Giving you a little beefier feel as you go up the neck!.....

hmm, my 60's vibe neck doesnt feel at all like the wolfgang I once owned. Nothing like the Axis models I have played either.
I think the 60's vibe neck is probably the closest though...like John noted it does fill ones hand nicely.

Check out Warmoth's Neck Profiles page. The Wolfgang has a slightly offset contour and feels nothing like my EVH EBMM.
