View Full Version : it's here!!
Collected my new hollow swamp ash classic yesterday afternoon. It is fabulous - Tom please pass my thanks to everyone who had a hand in its production.
I'd been agonising a bit the last few days over whether it was a good idea to have gone for the natural satin finish, or wheter it might look a bit bland - but on seeing the guitar I'm really glad that's what I went for. It just oozes understated quality - and whoever selected the wood picked a really nice piece: beautiful grain and shade, which matches perfectly with the maple neck.
Can't thank you guys enough!:D

Congratulations! Seeing a natural ash classic played on this video is what sparked my interest in Toms guitars! Great instructional video but while watching the close up right hand shots, the "understated quality" just draws one to focusing in on the guitar :)

Not a Classic but a T Classic with a great piece of swamp ash (and neato gloss natural headstock!) Love the look of the tortoise guard on the natural wood.

Nice piece of ash.
(Sorry, I couldn't resist... and I'm a PASTOR for crying out loud... Sheesh...)
would I be right in thinking the swamp ash will darken a shade over time too, like other woods?
the finish does do some yellowing over time. necks that have come in for re fretting usually look halfway to what a nes tinted neck looks like. the body finish ages a little less yellow and gets a nice warm tone to it.
have done some (well, actually rather a lot!) of photographs now - will sort through them today and hopefully post a little later under a new thread along with the spec. Haven't been able to put the guitar down since collecting it. Have been really happy with my atom, which has taken my playing a lot further, but somehow this classic really suits me and how I play. I don't know if it's the extra scale length or what, but it just feels so 'right'.:D
