As critical as pick ups are--I cannot find a good sonic description, visual description/picture of all of the various TA pick ups that are available (I hate to say it but the PRS website does a much better job of explaining/showing pick ups than does the TA website) . Does anyone know of a dealer website or anywhere hidden at the TA website to get this info?
thanks

we make so many it is a daunting task. we try to talk about them in the context of a guitar, like in guitar of the week. that makes finding them a lot tougher though. guitars are our main thing, so we tend to think of the whole more than the selling of the different components. that doesn't mean we shouldn't have clips, it's just that there's only so many hours in the day and with 14 people they get gobbled up fast.

one thing you could do is post a question tonewise about a certain pickup and someone who owns the same pickup here on the forum can post a personal review for everyone to see (or at least answer your questions...:) )

Good suggestion, Mr J. Here goes:
I am planning a Classic T with 2 pickups (alder in transparent red with body contours). I play in a wedding band and we usually start out playing jazz standards and end the night with rockabilly and 50s rock and roll. I have a Deluxe Tele and I do like the sound of the SCN pickups Fender is putting on those. I do not want to deal with 60 cycle hum but would like to try to get a classic pickup look. I play through a Twin Ultra 15.
Ok, pickup suggestions??
thanks

TD1 TD3 would be my recommendation.
But honestly with that wood combo I would deal with the HUM, (turn your distortion pedeals off between songs, or turn the guitar down), and get just get TV's. They are really great sounding pickups. That is what I have in both of my Classic T's. In fact I do not own a guitar with hum cancelling single coils. I kind of find them a bit flat and slower than a straight up single.

In relation to the first post. It would be quite useful to have a repository for 'demo' sound files that include a description of the guitar, pickup and amp.
I'm pretty sure with everyone here, it would be possible to fill in most of the blanks. And in some cases have more than a few examples - especially for the popular combinations.
It might also be possible for each guitar coming off the production line, to record and photograph the guitar as part of the Q/A procedure. Now that would be cool!
