I am considering another TA purchase and and this time I am thinking I want to put a vintage tremelo on the T Classic. Any experience out there on how that vintage tremelo feels, functions?

functions the same, but i do warn people that the arm dangles right over the controls which can be annoying.

I hate to be dense, but functions the same as what? Function was probably a bad word to use, you grab the bar and go up and down... but, does it have an up and down motion or just down. 3 or 5 spring or could be both? since it dangles, it must be a pop in handle, not screw in.
I play a lot of jazz and rockabilly and just love to have something to wiggle at the end of a phrase so that is why I want the vintage tremelo.
I am consumed with that Translucent Red Classic T w/ 2 pickups on the website and when I realized it had a vintage tremelo I was sold.
I am in Bham,AL and I will go through Indoor Storm.
thanks for your comments.

I have a vintage trem on my hollow drop top T. There are two extra springs in the case so I assume it is 5 but mine is setup with 3. I bought mine from a collector through a second party and it still had the original strings on it so I am fairly certain the factory setup is still intact. And setup it is. I have owned several strats with the old sycronized system and one 83 strat with the weird under the pickguard setup, not to mention the floyd rose equiped destroyer that I spent time mangling in the hair bands of early 80s Texas. I have never owned or played a trem that I like more. Mine goes sharp and flat and stays in tune weather I'm wiggling a chord at the end of a song or dropping bombs ala EVH (sometimes I can't help myself). The bar is a pop in, and regardless of the setscrew it will eventually dangle as it works loose. It can be a little annoying at times but certainly not a major problem for me. Now I cannot say that I can't make it go out of tune with lots of use. My g string goes a little awol once in a while. But short of the excesses of the 80s it is very reliable. Plus, I think it has a much more organic feel than a Floyd. Or at least the ones that I've played. Long story short, they've got my vote. Hope this helps .

by function, i mean it does what it does the same regardless of body shape. it can be set to go only down(like i use since i do a lot of drop d tuning), or it can float. spring tension adjustment and string gauge determine how hard or soft it feels. sounds like you're floating guy.

I don`t understand that Fender, and maby others, still are using screw in tremolo arms! I hate it, and will never buy a guitar with screw in! I was shocked when i picked up a brand new Fender from my local guitarshop, and it was still the fluffy feel of a screw in tremolo arm!

my Vintage tremolo on my DT is just perfect. good feel, and it stays in tune!

i guess the non-stainless steel frets and the non-bfts is screaming early 90's also. however, this guitar has more frequent flyer miles than most people.:D
