Tom,
Both of my Droptops with Floyd Rose bridges are set up for 10's but I'm thinking about moving to 9's on one of them. Is a new setup absolutely required for this minimal of a change? The guitar is set up so beautifully I hate to risk having a guitar tech mess with it. Thoughts? Thanks in advance....
Jeff

If it was mine, I'd set it up for sure. But, do you really really need it? Well, short answer: maybe.... try putting the .009's on and see if it is really OK. You really should have it set up/intonated etc, but if you are in a pinch, you can get by.

Thanks Bruce! I'm going to try it and if it doesn't work out - I may be sending to the Anderson spa in Calif. ;)
the one thing you'll probably have to do is change the spring tension in the back if the floyds are floating. you'll need to loosen the claw screws and re tune till the baseplate of the bridge sit parallel to the top of the body. if you don't, the bridge will be pulling back and will probably lower the action.

But you would ship it to California from Texas and risk losing or damaging the guitar? Bryant is the best, go see him Jeff. This is a simple simple thing to do.
