Howdy folks. I'm a new member here. Also a new TAG owner - just received my gorgeous new Hollow Drop Top in Jack's Pacific Blue from Jack himself at Magdon Music in PA. Internet connections are grand - not limited to crap at mega stores or isolated small shops either...
Have played guitar since 1964, mediocre at best but comfortable with it, did some incognito band stuff along the way, and retired (sold) all my gear in 1995 (will miss that pre-owned 60's Bandmaster head for the rest of my life, as I do all the guitars and gear I've parted with through the years)... Rediscovered and rekindled my love of acoustic guitar about 5 years ago, and then searched for the past 6 months for the right re-entry into electric (purely for my own amusement and challenge).
I own a bunch of hand-built higher-end acoustic guitars, and was not going to settle for just any electric (and not interested in the big brands of my youth but would prefer something really special). Considered a lot of high quality boutique guitar makers (and some middling ones, too), but decided to try for an Anderson for quality, features, and enthusiasm of reviewers and owners.
So the Anderson search began, going all over the country via the internet and seeing what was out there for sale. A Hollow Drop Top with Maple fretboard was my top choice, and would you believe I fell in love with a new one which was born on my birthday! That's right, the serial number matches my birth date of April 26th. Sort of screamed BUY ME the more I thought about it.
So I called up Jack Gretz at his store and bought it on the phone, along with a new Mesa Express 5:25 amp (for home use). Got it today (July 3rd), and all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!! What a fantabulous axe, and a cool little amp too... Thank you Jack and Tom and all the Anderson crew.
Here is a quick picture of the guitar and amp:

This is going to be a ton of fun ! Will enjoy being on the forum, too.
Cheers - Doug (aka Little Dougie, my former rocker/DJ name given to me by Dee Dee Ramone in Chicago 1977 as he autographed my Sheena picture sleeve)
