Very nice. There was one similar to this on ebay recently, although that was a quilt. Congrats :)

There's one now, too, personalized quilt: http://cgi.ebay.com/Anderson-Atom-Guitar-Brand-New-No-Reserve-Beautiful_W0QQitemZ180134961338QQihZ008QQcategoryZ 2384QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem.

Yeah, it's pretty nice. The top has a nice 3D kind of ripple effect. It's on the money as I spec'd it.

Nicest position seems to be 4 and 5 for the bridge H2+. You can get a very robust crunch out of that, and roll off the tone and have a really nice VOX like tone. Still figuring out which other positions make sense for other things.

For other folks, I would probably say go for the JUMBO frets. I did medium, which has some tradeoffs. I can move around really quick on this neck, but it is a bit tougher to hold a chord on the lower frets. Works well for my current skill level though.

Very well balanced weight, and excellent craftsmanship. Hats off to the TA builders.

Absolutely beautiful! Congrats!

Is the color dark cherry burst?

Here's a better picture. It's "Desert Sunset". In person, basically kind of a tobacco burst or iced tea burst.

I saw the one on the bay, is that REALLY a personalized top? Is that yours Mbrown? Its beautiful of course, but I wonder what sets up the spec for "personalized". I think its something the customer picks out? Or Roy/Tom selects? I know its like a $500.00 upcharge?
I got to comparing the one on the Bay with mine (which isn't a personal top),
can someone tell me the diff? See the pic.

Yes, it's mine (though only briefly). Tom & Roy pick out the personalized top. It really is a pretty cool quilt, but I'm not sure how the determination is made...

I knew it was something like that. Thanks for the enlightenment. Congrats, looks like you've got a bite or two. My best to you and the family with the medical concerns..

Thanks Shaun! I hope it comes up a little bit, to get closer to what my price was, but at least there's some interest. And Scofield Kid, enjoy your Atom...they're just great guitars!

personal usually means someone is after a particular look. they may send us a photo and want us to match it as close as possible. we have to sort through everything to try to find a match. this also sometimes slows down the process as we may not have what you are after at any given point in time.

Yeah, mine is personalized. I think they pretty much nailed what I was asking for, which, I expect, is somewhat of a difficult skill to master. But in general, I tend to think that the Tom Anderson guitars are generally of higher quality than a lot of other guitars in any case. Very high quality stuff.

I would say Tom & Roy nailed my Personalized top.

Wow. That's a beauty! Did you go hollow or solid?

I like the understated quality of mine also.

My 2nd choice was to buy the one that apparently is still in stock at MakenMusic. (No understatement on Fireburst! :)

I think if I did a 2nd one, I would actually go hollow, jumbo frets, and skip the oversize on the neck. I'm quite happy with what I have here, the playability and the range of tone is amazing. And my hands are huge, so I'm having no trouble at all hitting positions. (Just giving hints to other folks.) I think the hollow would drop the weight just a bit, and make it even better feeling.

Range of tone is quite impressive. Still figuring out what does what on that tone knob. Just a very flexible instrument.
