Just got a nice used Hollow T Classic, built in 1997. I'm thinking of sending it to Anderson to have a powerbridge installed. Would I be wise to have SS frets done while it's there? Do you guys think it makes a big enough difference to make it worth it? (I have no idea what the cost would be). Opinions????
Having owned Andersons with both, I'd say that it's absolutely worth it. The feel is incredible for bending and vibrato, nevermind the lack of wear they offer. Highly recommended.

I second it... i'm going to start sending a few back to get it done.
I've always loved my parker for it...

I have both SS and non-SS Andersons. I will ALWAYS have SS frets from now on, even if it means a factory refret! I am about ready to have my 1996 Koa HDTC sent back for a larger neck AND SS frets! Once you've played them nothing else comes close.

Yes, I've got a newer Cobra with them and now this Hollow T without. I do like the SS better. Been e-mailing Tom about it. Not the most inexpensive thing to do, but may be well worth it. Want to be sure I'll be keeping the guitar for a long time before I spring for it. I've only had it 4-5 days and really feel like this is a keeper.

SS frets are one of the best things you can do for your guitar, tone-wise, intonation-wise (especially with the BFTS), longevity-wise, etc. I really can't recommend them enough. You'll notice an immediate difference.

anyone know the price for a refret to stainless steel and if its possible to send out just the neck and not the whole guitar, as I am the one who had the ups forklift driven through the case barley missing the guitar.
anyway please let me know on both.
thanks
bruce
refrets pricing:
rosewood board $300
maple $350
tinted maple $400
the maple is more because we have to refinish the board, tinted maple is more because we have to strip then refinish the whole thing.
we need the whole guitar so we can set it up and make it play like new.

I have a hollow droptop (11-07-00a) and am wondering if I have SS frets on it?
Also, does anyone know if it is possible to install a pickguard on my guitar? I really like the look of a classic...I think the answer is no, but I want to get some input before i have to sell this to get a classic..:(
stainless started in early 2002. can't really add a pickguard, the control cavity would then go all the way through, and you'd have one weak puppy.

I have had my 2 TAs for less than 1 week. I can't imagine being any happier.
Now, you guys are making me greedy:
"Hmmmm, stainless steel frets... you mean I can be even... happier?"

I'm sending my "97" Hollow T off tomorrow to have them installed!!!!!!!!!!!! Have not yet decided whether to stay with heavies or go the mediums. Hoping Bruce or Roy can help me with that. Can't wait.

You won't regret the SS frets! I always order Heavy frets on my custom orders but recently picked up an in-stock Classic from Jack thta has Medium frets. Very little, if any, difference in feel to me.
