installing pickup ring for HTC

Guess this is a question for Tom,

I bought this hardly used HTC from andersonalley - originally Slyvanshine's.

The bridge pickup - as was specified by him - didn't have a ring.

How would I go about getting a ring to have installed if I wanted that? Is that possible?

Would I order one from you to have a local luthier install or send the guitar to Anderson to have it installed by you guys?

BTW, I like the madagascar rosewood fretboard. I think it's nicer than Indian Roseword (maybe just in this case) in that it has a smoother finish. Not as many small pockets (indentations) - or none at all - due to the nature of tighter grain.

any flat ring will work. we use the duncan matte finish trembucker ring. the cutout in the pickguard may have to be enlarged to get the ring to fit into it.

HOLD ON! It is entirely possible that this is the case with this guitar.. but not certain until you can verify by removing the pickup and looking at the 2 ears where the height adjustment screw go through.

Because there is no mounting ring we had to mount the pickup into the body... that means we had to use 2 wood-screws... that means the holes for the pick up adjustment were *(POSSIBLY)* enlarged to make those wood-screws fit through nicely... that means you CANNOT put a normal size height adjustment screw through and have it catch threads.

If this is the case, read on..

You can keep the pick up mounted the way it is and just have the ring there for looks... that would be the cheapest route. OR, you can try and find a non-conventional sizes screw that will work for the height adjustment... (also cheap).. but you would have to re-tap new threads. OR, you could buy a new pickup and start from scratch... OR, (didn't think of this one til just now, this would be the cheapest) you could leave it alone.

Should I call up Anderson Guitar works and ask for someone?
