I'm looking for a good gig bag for my Crowdster (the one that came with the guitar is too big and bulky and has gotten damaged on the road).

My question is, is the Crowdster's body type comperable to other guitars? If I bought a case for a Fender Strat, do you think it would work?

Here's the one I'm looking at on buying: http://goincase.com/products/detail/slim-bag-cl56063/7

Do you think that would work?

your crowdster gig bag is big because the crowdster is big. i don't think that it's going to fit into a standard strat- or les paul-sized gig bag. measure its length and width across the body; compare to a strat or les paul. you definitely don't want to cram a too-large guitar into a gig bag...the zipper could do some nice damage and it could create undue pressure on the guitar.

the crowdster is 1" wider, 14" and 1/4" thicker. i have put mine in some electric gig bags without a problem. you'll just have to check.

Dear Tom (or AGF Members who know),

First off, I am consistently blown away at the quality of your product and the availability of your input. You are the best!

You commented on a post concerning Crowdster Gig Bags and said:

“the crowdster is 1" wider, 14" and 1/4" thicker. i have put mine in some electric gig bags without a problem. you'll just have to check.”

I’m at work right now and would love to purchase a gig bag immediately and do not know the dimensions of my Crowdster off hand. Do you think it would fit in a gig bag with the following dimensions?

Interior: 40" x 13.5" x 2.5"

Here is also a size chart from Incase’s website:

As well as a link for the product I am interested in buying:

If you have a moment, could you let me know if you think my Crowdster might fit in this case?

Great choice with the Incase!

Got mine about 4 years ago and many of their design and quality features are are just now being adopted by other gig bag mfgs.

Ive an acoustic size one and also one for elec bass which Ive used
for asst electrics ( it works fine but it just has a little extra lenght which isnt an issue.)

busta, i did respond to your email, the 13.5 dimension would be to msmall for the 14" width.

Has anyone come to terms on this? I need to pick up a gig bag for my Crowdster Plus?

Any recommendations?

I have a leather levys gig bag for my crowdster and it fits perfect. The size will also fit my drop tops as well as my Atom. I'm not sure of the modle, but it's a great gig bag. They call it moc-crock, it's leather that is fashioned to look like crock.

'Bout a hundred bucks?

Have you traveled with it? Seems pretty sturdy?

Thanks!

Yes, I've traveled with it. It has about 2in of heavy foam and thick interior on each side. It's not going to give you the protection of a hard shell case, but I've had no issues with it when traveling.

I got mine on ebay for about 120. It's the leather version and I think it retails for a bout 400.

UPDATE.

I got the Blues Reunion from Elderly. It seems to be a bit tight for the Crowdster Plus. Disappointed, but I ran out of time. I leave for Toyko Monday morning.

FYI.

I went ahead and bought this incase gig bag and to my surprise, IT FITS! My Crowdster was a little snug in there at first but everything is working perfectly now. This is an awesome gig bag and is highly recommended for any Crowdster owners looking for a more user friendly and road ready gig bag. I think you can even pick up these cases at most Guitar Centers (I saw one for sale at my local GC).

Check it out for yourself:

I've had two John Mayer strats, both of which came with custom InCase bags like this. I can't say enough good stuff about them. The attention to detail is amazing.

i have the double electric version, but it's just so bulky. hold on a second, this is the tank version of gig bags and i do like it. quite a few pockets for your stuff, but it is about 10-12 inches deep. does not fit in the overhead compartment of an airplane, however, my mooridian double electric gig bag does.

This goes back to what i said in a previous post, if it was in a case like the atom, or dare i say it a Taylor T5  !!! it offers much more protection than a gig bag? i carry my hollow T classic in a line 6 variax gig bag, because them big square things are just too much hassle ? give me a good fitting hard case to protect my Anderson any day :)
