...to answer Roy's question in the 4-29-07 Anderson GoTW,
I'd guess it's owned by none other than our own "Supreme Commander". Bigsby trem, Special (as opposed to an Atom with a maple top), Green (maybe not seafoam but Sage Metallic's nice).....Tom, care to comment?:p

Mike,
You read my mind. I also thought it was Tom's Atom. He has mentioned a special before.

Hmmm...doesn't Tom usually use the side fret markers in a diamond pattern on the fretboard for his personal Andy's? ;)

Did folks notice what apears to be a maple neck...isn't that another Tom specific design?

A seafoam green Atom now that would be cool.

If im not mistaken, that guitar was built in order to be given away to whoever sends the crew at the shop food goodies - scrumptious, high caloric food goodies.
i don't think it's a maple neck.

The headstock is not painted...at least it does not look like it is. Thus I assumed Maple since it was a lighter shapde than what Mahogany looks like.
ah, but things are not always as they appear. perhaps it is from a tall tree in the sitka region of alaska? that would be an interesting experiment. perhaps one day it will come to be.

Wow, what one little question can do.
I, of course, called Roy, since I know him personally (but I guess we all do), to see what is up. He said, next week all—or a lot at least—will be revealed. The face behind the guitar? Maybe! The mysterious neck wood? Maybe not!

Tom if it is yours, why no special inlays like you use to do? the 4 little dots all together?

i love change, so the dots are so 2 years ago;)
through the whole atom evolution, i was using a lot of off the shelf left over necks, so i didn't always get my backshape or fret preferance. i'm pretty adaptable with neck size. i prefer the 60's vibe these days, but a happy medium will do fine. of the two atoms i gig with now, one has small frets and one has heavies. it's all good. variety is the spice of life they say.

I have lots of guitars and they all have different neck shapes . Its not an issue with me . They range from thin necks to very rounded ones . I just adapt to which ever one I choose to take to the gig . They are all cool in their own way or vibe .
