So what's different about the new "Anderson EQ'd LR Baggs Piezo" as compared to my Classic's Fishman Power Bridge?

I've never really liked the tones in my Power Bridge (no offense). I've only tried it live twice (separated by a couple of years). Just doesn't sound good to me. Of course, part of the problem is I love the way my classic sounds so much that I really don't want to hear anything else (except my Hollow T Classic!).

the "anderson eq'd" piezo is in the crowdster. it is the preamp that has the eq modified for the crowdster. completely different than any metal ridge with piezo's installed.

The powerbridge takes some work with a decent acoustic preamp (I use the old Yamaha AG Stomp with GREAT results) to get a lot out of. I recently put one in my US Masters Strat. You also can try monkeying with a great eq. But once you dial in your tone, it's very useful. Give it some time if you have that gear available to you.

Also, using the same preamp with a Crowdster makes it sound so good that it beats any plugged in full-bodied "real" acoustic guitar I've ever played. Thanks again, Tom!

i think the main snag with piezo equipped electrics is the feel and sound of small electric strings. you can't play them like you would an acoustic. it takes a delicate touch to make them sound real.

Tom,

You're so right. That's why when I'm playing both and I REALLY need the acoustic to sound and play great, I reach for your crowdster plus, not one of the Godins.

Heavier strings (especially a wound G) help, but then you can't bend like you want on the electric. The DR zebras are okay, but they don't intonate properly on one of my guitars (Tom, you told me that would happen) and they die in no time flat. (I only got two weeks of light play out of a set on my Flat Five X.)

compromises... always compromises. But unless I'm playing shredding leads, I have pretty much no compromises with the Crowdster plus. (and it looks great too, although marso is going tell you his is better lookin' -- and it is...)
