James Brown dead at 73

R&B singer James Brown died today in an Atlanta hospital . What an impact the man had so many musicians . He was controversial at times but I loved his groove oriented songs . He liked to accent on the one . I suppose he invented Funk Nation ! He was from Augusta, GA. not far from me . I just did a gig there a week ago . There is a street down on the river front named after him . God rest his soul , and he a had alot of soul .

Another legend I wish that I could have seen in live performance.
Loved hearing funk licks of Jimmy Nolen - you just have to move
your body when hearing one of his songs :)

Rest in peace James. The man never took his foot off the pedal, on stage or off (unless mandated by the state). Exuberant grooves like no other. I never got to see him live either (sigh).
