Divorce pending. But even if viewed at the level of investor (I've seldom looked at things this way), this has got to be 50% per annum for the next couple of years at least, with some playing enjoyment thrown in for gravy:rolleyes: , No?

That's a pretty sweet looking burst. I especially like the burst on the neck. Very classy looking.
Enjoy!
nice, but which half do you get after the divorce?

I hope to keep the nut!
cool guitar; i thought about bidding on that one myself but didn't. i guess it's the closest thing you can get to an p-90 atom; i bet it'll rock. beer + ebay isn't always a winning combination but i think you did alright on this one.

.... but I had to agree to sell my Grosh Bent Top T and my ASAT Bluesboy.
So it goes on the GAS -Go-Round! Divorces are so hard on the kids, especially at this time of year (or so I've heard).
and you get to keep your nuts!

"50% per annum for the next couple of years at least"? As you yourself said, "No".
TAGW makes great guitars (I've owned mine since 1997), but I seriously doubt that they'll go up in price that much that quickly, even with the company being downsized to just Tom. Just my $.02... :)

.....people that already own one or more TAGs, and they want to make sure that their TAG needs are "taken care of" for the next x years.
Once that flurry of buying has subsided, I'll bet the pricing will be approximately what it was prior to Tom's announcement, +10%.
I really don't think that those folks who were on the fence before, about whether or not to buy a TAG, are now going to jump into the market to any serious degree, as the higher prices are no doubt a turn-off. So they will pass.
My guess.

.... I don't expect my Atom to appreciate as per my original (beery, post-auctiion intoxicated) post and I don't care. I'm just glad to have snagged a beautiful one for less than "list" price in these crazy times. It probably is true that this model will be harder to come by in the coming days than, say, Classics, Drop Tops, Hollow Ts, etc. There will be many fewer built at the end of the day, after all. But I've wanted an Atom for a long time, and I'm just thrilled that I've got one on the way. My plan is to enjoy it for a long time to come - not to flip it to make a buck.
That it may be a good investment as well is just icing on the cake - something that helped me justify to my wife my pulling the trigger the other night. But I still need to sell a couple of other guitars to keep the peace.
