Has anyone tried the new Boss AC3 acoustic similator? Supposedly uses their COSM technology to get acoustic sounds from electrics.

I have not tried it yet----but makes me wonder what's coming for new peizo technology. Could it be that the peizo bridges may become a thing of the past for getting these sounds?

Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts, or info.

I don't think a pedal is going to get you as close as a piezo through an acoustic amp. A pedal is just taking the magnetic signal and simulating an acoustic whereas the piezo is actually a string on a bridge. I have the Powerbridge on my HTC, my DTT and my '00 R9 through a Fishman Loudbox 100 and I always get players coming up to me trying to figure out where the acoustic is coming from.

If you are using it for one song, get the pedal. But if you are serious about it, get a piezo and an acoustic amp.

I've had power bridges on a couple of Andersons and dug it so much that I had them installed on my strat and tele. I love it------especially blending the two sounds.

Actually---after Fishman dropped the powerblend pedal, I started wondering what they may have up their sleave for the future. I've heard they are not supplying that bridge to Anderson or Suhr anymore, but I believe the bridge is still available. (????????) Kind of confusing, at least to me.

Sylvanshine------I meant to ask. Sounds like you're happy with that Fishman amp. Does it allow you to add an extention cab if you want?

I've been using a Genz Benz here lately and am not all that thrilled with it. Am on the look out for a different amp. Perhaps the Loudbox?

Thanks.

I use the Loudbox as a monitor for myself and then run the XLR out to house and monitors for the rest of the band. It gets plenty loud for club shows. I just got tired of lugging my SWR Cali Blonde around. For my needs, the Loudbox is perfect.

Cool. Does it have two channels in order to run an acoustic thru one, and the powerbridge thru the other?

I does have two channels, but I only use one. Magnetic side goes to a Bogner.
