I'm looking into buying one but not sure which would suit me better so does anyone have experience with both ?

I play mainly classic rock but branch out to some Blues/Country/Funk and Jazz stuff. I'm also looking for that tele sound too.

Hope that helps somewhat but I have no idea where to start asking questions.

My T Classics, both Alder, really cut through with a lot of punch. I have the TV pickups. You may want too inquire how the contours will affect the tone.

I'm always tempted with the hollow bodies, because in theory they fit my style and taste more, and tons of people love them. But in reality, I just like the way solid bodies sound, they just sound better to my ear no matter the style of guitar OR music.

...and they strike me as different beasts. Both have contours--that's an absolute requirement for me. The Hollow T responds differently than the T Classic--there's something about the hollow body and its relation to the strings that causes me to attack it a bit more subtlely. I can beat on the T Classic just fine. I use the T Classic for R&B, Rock, Country, and it does okay for jazz (it has three pups). The Hollow Classic (which has 2 stacked humbuckers) gets a great jazz tone--it's not like a 175, for example, but has a very unique voice. And on the back pup (in HB mode) it's not unlike a 335. I guess it has a more "rounded" tone than the Classic T.

Don't know if this helps, but that's how I use them. In fact, I played a gig Saturday night with the T Classic and it just sounded and played killer. Both are great guitars.

The hollow will have a softer attack when you hit it or pluck it... sort of like a built-in compressor/limiter.... A Little softer and more musical. It's a small amount, but noticable. If you are looking for the traditional Tele twang/spank, you should look at the solid-body.

I'm back temporarily... then back out through December. Sorry I didn't get a chance to ding your guitar.
