I have no idea what they go for these days, I see one on ebay now for $2300 USD.

Anyone have any ideas?

If you're talking about the one in Germany, that guitar has been for sale at that price for quite some time (at least a year) with no takers. I had a '90 black/gold that I sold a few years ago for $1200.

For as hard as it was for you to buy it when you were a student, AND THEN how hard it was to get it back, I'm kinda wonderin' why you would want/need to sell it? Trends come, trends go in the musical instrument world. Pointy headstocks are in, then their out. Floyds in, Floyds out, Floyds in, Floyds out. Graphic finishes, totally vintage guitars, L.A. "studio guitars", stomp boxes, modded stomp boxes, Class A amps, rack systems, teeny weeny 5 watt Champs, Tweed Amps with two controls, etc. etc. etc. (help me out here pluto).

My first guitar was an Ibanez Roadstar (strat copy) in 1983. I sold it to a guy in a neighboring MN town for $130. Back in 2000, I tried calling the guy's parents and found out he had kept the guitar all that time and was some kind of studio engineer in L.A. (good for him). He sold the guitar a few months before my call to his parents to somebody in L.A. It wasn't a valuable guitar (I'm betting it was worth $200). BUT......it was valuable to me. I washed quite a few dishes on weekends to save up for that thing. I wish I had it back.

I've bought and sold and bought and sold and there's a few things I wish I had back - a PRS EG model I bought here in Japan for only $650, my Rivera Chubster, my original BF Vibrolux and Tubescreamer (hey, it didn't do Iron Maiden, so I had to sell it when I was 18 y.o.), and my little Ibanez Roadstar.

It's just my opinion, but keep the guitar. You won't regret it.

I hear you, and I may reconsider but the truth is I never play it. It has been in a case for over a year, I used it once in the studio and that was it. I would not use it live due to the floyd and I have come to love huge necks (historics, nocasters, ect..). I already have one sentimental piece that I will never ever sell, that is my 82 LP custom and that is enough.
