Hi everyone,

I am sure this has been covered, but I have had no luck finding postings on the topic.

I have been using 10s on all of my guitars (25 1/2 and 25 and 24 3/4 scale guitars). Lately I have been playing the 25 1/2 less due to the feel. I was wondeing what the thoughts were on going from 10s to 9s on a 25 1/5 scale guitar. I want to see if it is comparable to the shorter scale feel using 10s. I am sure my tone might change, but I would be willing to give it a try if it matches closer to the feel of 10s on a shorter scale guitar.

Any input would be appreciated.

Snake Oil 9.5 to 44 is your best bet. Fantastic strings.

Just try it. Can't hurt to give it a shot with a set of strings and see how the feel compares. Something you may want to try is a set of custom light strings...they combine the upper strings of 9s with the lower strings of 10s. Gives you the lighter feel and "bendability" but with the lower end of 10s. It's my first preference for strings, and Elixers make a set. Snake Oils are nice, but nothing beats the tone and longevity of Elixers...

Thanks. I am holding off on chaning strings just yet. I am dealing with a Floyd and it is a nuissance to set it up. I do not want to change and then see I want to change back. I want to get a feel from different folks. It is definitely looking like I should at least give it a try. I just fear mucking with the Floyd now that I have it set up for 10s.
