I mean, compared to the standard neck joint? Seems like not being able to shim the neck pocket would make it much more critical to get everything right up front. Does that cause grief to Bruce and the assembly team vs. the old way?
we never shimed neck pockets, so that is not a factor. it's not easier or harder, just different. in some ways it's more forgiving in assembly, in other ways it's not.

My first Charvel (1985 San Dimas) had a piece of matchbook cover wedged under the neck to shift the neck angle. So, I guess I can say Charvel had their own version of a "wedgie"! Glad to hear you guys never have to correct your guitars that way!
Looking forward to trying out a Wedgie equipped TAG!

So Tom, when do you think the other guitar makers (I won't mention names) will copy yet another brilliant idea of yours?

I'll give you a hint. His initials are ......... ah, never mind. ;)
i have enough trouble keeping up with what we're doing. i really don't think about what others might do. whether they do or not we'll still do what we do.
