I'm a big Matt Bellamy (Muse) and Tom Morello (Audioslave) fan. Both of them use a kill switch in interesting ways.
Here's my question. Anyone know if it's a ON-OFF, OFF-ON-OFF or an ON-OFF-ON? When I listen to Morello, it doesn't sound like a simple ON-OFF. There is a unique pattern that comes out.
And a follow up for anyone that has installed one. Where did you get it? Mouser?
Thanks!

I recall that as well. Thanks Suriel.
all that's required is a spst, you can use a on-on, on-off, you could even use an on -off-on. momentary switches are nice because you can never accidentally have then off. you just short the hot from the jack to ground. the crowder guys wanted latching switches so they can hit notes or chords while off and then machine gun them.

Can't believe you are on vacation and responding to threads about kill switches. But I guess that is why we love you Tom!
What form would a momentary switch take? Could it be a soft tactile push button or would it need to be a toggle?
Last night I came to bed...wife was reading The Devil Wears Prada....I was thumbing through the Mouser catalog.

i saw a video on youtube with buckethead (buckethead lesson) where he uses a push button for some odd effects. i would imagine the quality of the switch would come into play depending on the abuse you give it.

i have used momentary mini switches and they have a nice feel. the push button scares me a bit, they seem more fragile(said with my best italian accent).
