I gave it a good workout so far.I should say the Atom gave me the work out!I am amazed at how many great tones it is capable of.Every pickup position sounds wonderful and inspiring.

That is a 1990 Swamp Ash Hollow T Classic.Has a one piece oversized .030" large 50's V neck.It is by far the greatest Tele I have ever played.I'll never part with it.

I just picked up another Atom yesterday and was struck by that very thought. Position 4 (bridge split) and Position 3 with the push pull (both hums split) are pretty astonishing. You would never expect those tones from a single cutaway. I've owned 6 or 7 Cobras and they never sounded like that. Enjoy your burst.

jay, is it the tear drop shape you like? i've been doing a few of those lately. i think on that shape it's more "familiar looking" to lots of people.

What I like about Sean's burst, Tom is that it's subtle. My personal preference is that faded over time look that this one delivers brilliantly.

The darker teardrops on the Atom don't work for me. Like my new Desert Sunset...it would have looked odd in a teardrop. I think two closely matched colors like this is happening baby.

Jay, I thought that originally also about the darker bursts. Each of us have our own likes and dislikes, but I have to say that after I saw that guitar in person at Mass Street Music I was impressed. YMMV

i think the 'tear' burst shape is more appealing compared to following the line of the guitar, easier on the eyes (softer and symetrical). would be interesting to see the tear a little heavier on the bottom (near the bout) and more faint or faded at the point, the reverse of Seans. obtw -- your atom looks fabulous, Sean.

guess there are really no rules when it comes to bursts .. here's a beaut of a Greven from the Dream Guitars website ... this ones got a happy face..

Okay,I've been playing this incredible guitar for a couple of weeks now.I am floored at how awesome this guitar sounds.I wanted a guitar that felt similar to a Les Paul that could have that Paulish humbucker sound but, more open and airy sounding. It does.I also wanted great single coil tones. They are here too.Position 3 with both humbuckers split has a wonderful Strattyness to it.Position 2(bridge split)has a Tele vibe and cut.I dig it.Take a Les Paul a Gretsch and a Tele put them in a blender and that is how I hear my Hollow Atom.Amazing tones from a single cutaway guitar.Impressive.Plus it has it's own Atom voice. It really cuts through a mix.Tight bass response that has no muddiness at all.Bell like highs with sweet mids that have a wonderful ring to them.I have to say this is the most versatile guitar I have ever played.I could easily do a three hour show without any other guitars. It really covers all bases for me.Thanks again Tom,Roy and the rest of the TAG team. :D
