Fretboards & String Life...?

I find that I wear strings out a lot faster on my Maple Necked Classic then on my Rosewood fretboard Hollow Classic...

The Maple neck seems to collect grime and dirt and just generally wear on the strings faster then the Rosewood Fretboard does...

Now is this phenomena common knowledge or could it just be my particular acidic finger physiology...?

I play Maple and Rosewood boards.My strings last the same for both types.Maple is sealed with lacquer so,a build up of grime and dirt can happen faster than unsealed Rosewood.
