the plate works nicely with our VA's, but the holes do not line up. you also have to change the middle pu.

I had a Swamp Ash Hollow Classic that came with SAs when I bought it. I decided I wanted a more vintage sound than the SAs were providing. At the time, I had no idea TAG offered vintage single coils, so I bought a set of Fralin Vintage Hots with the baseplate on the bridge pickup. They're really sweet sounding and glassy pickups. Fralin nailed it on that one. I always liked them more than the Suhrs, but I still haven't played a Hollow Classic with VAs, so I can't tell you how they compare.

VAs sound really really good. Unfortunately, I ordered a couple of v60lp's (should be here today. . waiting for the brown truck to pull up) for my Drop Top since I didn't know if the VAs would work with the backplate. I'll order the backplate after I see if I like these pickups. If the v60lp's aren't what I want, I'll order some VAs.
