I've seen one in the GOTW archives that was built in an "esquire" fashion. Has just a TD3+ in the bridge.

Did you build many this way, or is that somewhat of a rare Hollow T?

Oh, and while I'm asking...................what 'd you think of it?

Just curious. (OK, very curious.)

i only remember a few. single pickup guitars are always interesting for me to play. it makes you be more creative. i remember a hollow t or cobra that had a single M2. it was so much fun to play. kinda like an amp with no pedals. makes ya work for it a bit more.

Thanks Tom.

The one on the Anderson site is the only one I've ever seen. (# 02-09-04P). I would imagine the tone control comes in very handy on a single PUP guitar. Do you know if different tone pots were used on those, or just the standard ones used on all Hollow T's?

I've obviously never played an esquire but would think that a BIG tone sweep would be------helpful.

Hi Gas,

We did that one for Willies American Guitars—a Transparent Teal Hollow T Classic Drop Top with only one pickup. Some players love this because they are “T” players who live at the bridge position anyway. “Ts” have the ability, in the right hands, to have their bridge pickup span a large array of tones from clear single coil to almost humbucker-like—think Jimmy Page. Good amp settings can help here too.

This guitar had a 3-Way Switch. All the way back was the pickup without the tone control in the circuit, the middle setting was pickup with the tone control active and all the way toward the neck was the pickup with the tone control rolled all the way off—automatically—it is actually done with other electronics—exact same effect. Volume control becomes an effective tool as well, varying input gain to the amp and changing from overdriven to clean.

Thanks to Tom and Roy (Maybe)-----for answering my questions regarding this guitar. I have now become it's proud owner. Another "used, but like new" Anderson story. The single pickup thing is new territory for me but must say-------I had an absolute BLAST in the basement this afternoon. Tom was right---------it makes you dig alittle more. I also use the piezo alot so this was perfect.

For those interested---ser.# 02-09-04P. It was GOTW, but I can't remember which month right now. Try to look at the pic in the gallery section on Anderson's site. Really a beautiful guitar.

Thanks again boys.
